Animal Description:

Bel Canto Farm is proud to introduce you to our stunning ¾ Peruvian, ½ Accoyo beige sire ‘Bellagio’.  Bellagio has received top awards in every show including AOBA Nationals and The Futurity for his excellence in phenotype.  Bellagio backs up his good looks with strong lineage from his Full Accoyo Sire, PRA Armando and ½ Peruvian dam, GMF Audrie.  Both parents have produced top quality offspring year after year and descend from a long line of impact alpacas such as Accoyo’s Shere Kahn and Patagonia’s Danko.

Bellagio is a robust male who exhibits outstanding conformation and fleece qualities.  He stands very straight, with a broad chest and very strong hindquarters.  His teeth and jaw are perfectly aligned and his head is very masculine.

A highly uniform, soft fleece blankets his entire frame with lovely bundles everywhere. Bellagio’s fleece earned an impressive 20/20 for fineness and handle.  He’s now in his third year fleece and it still continues to exhibit strong uniformity and lovely handle across the body.  He was awarded another Blue Ribbon in early October at age 27.5 months, confirming his ability to maintain excellent fleece quality over time.  Again, it was his wonderful uniformity and handle that stood him above the rest.

Bellagio has a deep line of color from his dam’s lineage therefore he has great potential to add elite light fleece characteristics to a colored herd.  Here at Bel Canto Farm we will be using Bellagio to add that exceptional fleece quality to our colored herd as well as our lighter females. His dam Audrie is a rich auburn in color and her sire is AML Adriano, a true black, blue ribbon winner from Alpacas of Maple Lane.  Adriano descends from the great medium rose grey impact male Danko.

Bellagio's genetic lines are amazing and very limited in North America.  His grandsire, full-Accoyo Allin Cappac was one of only three Shere Kahn sons ever imported into the USA.  Shere Kahn is the most influential male ever at Accoyo and Allin was an unbelievable male with shocking fleece.  Circumstances occurred that led to Allin being sold to Australia after only siring 7 offspring in the USA, one of which was Armando, Bellagio’s sire.   With the unexpected and early passing of Bellagio’s Full Accoyo sire Armando in 2009, Bellagio is one of a few left to carry on where his sire left off.

Bellagio is an exceptional sire with very select impact genetics.  We have Bellagio’s fleece available for you to examine along with his fleece statistics, show record, and other pertinent information that will help you decide that he is right for your breeding program.
