Bel Canto Farm is a family affair. Barb is immersed in the business; caring for the alpacas, marketing, showing, training, and planning the future. The children help with chores and training while Frank manages the pasture and monitors the forage to be sure our nutrition program is precise.
We spent our first years building a herd of exquisite foundation stock females. Carefully planned breedings to some of North America's finest herd sires resulted in offspring that are among the best in the country. We will always strive for genetic improvement within our herd, therefore providing our customers with a wide variety of elite alpacas. Our goal is to hear our customers say, "I would buy any alpaca on your farm."
Each alpaca in our herd is managed with their specific nutritional needs in mind. We monitor their health daily and keep up-to-date medical records. A clean environment in the barn and pastures contributes to outstanding herd health. Through patient and gentle training, every alpaca is easy to lead and handle, decreasing their stress during every-day human contact and showing.
